Why was snowboarding invented?
Why the snowboard was invented!!!
If you want to know how people overcame the problem of snowboarding in the winter you’re in the right place!
There was a man named Sherman Poppens who had a son that was in eighth grade and wanted to skate 365 days a year, even on cold winter days. To help his son, Poppens came up with the snurfer. His son loved playing outside with it. Poppens knew he had made is son happy and he was very proud of it!
A lot of people love to skateboard but one problem they face is they can’t figure out how to do it in the winter, especially if they live in a place where it snows. One solution was found by a boy named Tom Sims.
Tom took a trip to California and did a lot of skateboarding there. He started to get really good and he did it all the time. When winter came he could not skateboard because of the snow and the coldness. He came up with the idea for a new board that could be used on snow, the skiboard. He started to go do some wood work and when he had done it the skiboard was the next thing in line.
Now these days people have no trouble skateboarding in the winter because the snowboard is common now. A lot of more people love to do it. I even like to do it myself. It is really fun!!

I didn't know that was how snowboards got invented. Those solutions were very creative because now people who skateboard can do what they love all year. Great Job!
